Media NAMI Family Member Support Group

Lima United Methodist Church 209 N. Middletown Road (Rt. 352), Media, PA, United States

Our Media NAMI Family Member Support Group will meet on the third Thursday of every month from 7-8:30 p.m. at Lima United Methodist Church, 209 N. Middletown Road (Rt. 352) in Media, PA. This is a confidential, and safe group of families helping other families who live with mental health challenges. This support group meets virtually and in-person simultaneously. Havertown NAMI Family Support Group

The Havertown NAMI Family Support Group is a free, confidential and safe group of families helping other families who live with mental health challenges. In this support group, families join a caring group of individuals helping one another by utilizing their collective lived experiences and learned wisdom. Family-to-Family Education Program

Virtual meeting on Zoom

Our next Family-to-Family Education Program will begin on Tuesday, February 6, and will meet weekly on Tuesdays for 8 weeks from 7-9:30 p.m. on Zoom. Family-to-Family (F2F) is a course structured to help family members understand and support a relative diagnosed with a serious mental illness while maintaining their own well-being. The course is taught by trained volunteer family members who know what it’s like to have a loved one with a serious mental illness. Registration is Required.  For more information, please contact us at nami.main.line.pa@gmail.com.

NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group

The NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is a free, peer support group for adults living with mental illness run and led by NAMI-trained facilitators. You will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others in a confidential setting.  This group will have in-person meetings on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays and Zoom Meetings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month.  If there is a 5th Tuesday, the meeting will occur on Zoom. Parent Peer Support Group

Our Parent Peer Support Group for parents with a middle school through young adult child suffering from mental illness will meet weekly via Zoom on Wednesday nights from 6:45-8:15 p.m.  The group is facilitated by Nancy Dever and Debbie Gillespie and was previously held at Wayne Presbyterian Church.  The peer support group is designed to be a safe, confidential place to share your experiences and learn from others.  If you are interested in the support group, or for questions, please contact Nancy Dever at psadfacilitator@gmail.com.

Main Line NAMI Forum: Finding, Evaluating and Working with a Therapist

Our panelists will provide suggestions on how to locate therapists for individual therapy with adults, adolescents or children and for child-focused or adult families. They will discuss how to think about the best type of therapy for a particular problem, how to decide if a therapist is a good fit for you or your family members, and how to negotiate the therapeutic relationship.
