Family Peer Support Specialist Training in August
Pennsylvania will offer the Family Peer Support Specialist training for primary caregivers who are interested in becoming a Family Peer Support Specialist (FPSS). A Family Peer Support Specialist is a person who is or has been the primary caregiver of an individual which includes children, youth or young adults experiencing emotional, behavioral or co-occurring challenges who inspires hope in family/caregivers. This is a 5-day comprehensive training (August 26-30) using the Family-Run Executive Director Leadership Association (FREDLA) Parent Peer Support Provider Practice Model. This Practice Model provides a framework for the essential functions of a Family Peer Support Specialist, offering core competency training and practicing of skills across the 6 phases of family peer support: Connect, Discover, Support, Empower, Prepare and Take Care.
