We offer the Bryn Mawr Family Member Support Group, the Havertown NAMI Family Support Group and the Parent Peer Support Group for family members of loved ones who have a mental illness. We also offer the NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group for individuals with mental health conditions and the Wellness Chats for Family-to-Family Graduates.
The Bryn Mawr Family Member Support Group meets the first Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom. If you have a family member or loved one with mental illness and are interested in this support group, please contact Diane at dmkotrl@gmail.com for more information.
The Havertown NAMI Family Support Group is a free, confidential and safe group of families helping other families who live with mental health challenges. In this support group, families join a caring group of individuals helping one another by utilizing their collective lived experiences and learned wisdom. Family members can achieve a renewed sense of hope for their loved one living with mental health challenges. The Havertown NAMI Family Support Group meets in-person meeting on the third Tuesday of the month from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Llanerch Presbyterian Church, 211 Lansdowne Road, Havertown. The NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is a free, peer support group for adults living with mental illness run and led by NAMI-trained facilitators. You will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others in a confidential setting. This group will have in-person meetings on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays and Zoom Meetings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month. The Parent Peer Support Group meets on Wednesday nights from 6:45-8:15 p.m. for parents with a middle school through young adult child who is challenged with mental health symptoms. The peer support group is designed to be a safe, confidential place to share your experiences and learn from others. The group is facilitated by Nancy Dever and Debbie Gillespie and will meet on Zoom. For questions or to RSVP, contact Nancy Dever at psadfacilitator@gmail.com.
Judy Green, Family-to-Family (F2F) facilitator, and Nancy Helfman and Mo Gillen, former F2F participants, invite F2F “graduates” of the program to join their Wellness Chat for Family-to-Family Graduates. Wellness chats typically take place once a month at 7 p.m. Please contact Judy at F2FMainLine@aol.com for the upcoming meeting information.
