Tell PA Officials: Act Now & Plan for the Closure of Montgomery County’s Only Year-round Shelter Serving Single Adults
One crisis can change everything. Whether it’s a global pandemic or a hurricane that causes significant damage in our local area, the line between security and uncertainty is often thinner than we thought.
In uncertain times, we all need something steady to rely on. With the closure of the only year-round shelter for individuals in our community during a time of soaring rents and other costs, we need officials to act now and plan ahead.
We need a plan for where our neighbors can go in times of personal crisis or hardship. We ask the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to partner with Montgomery County to provide space for a temporary shelter until the relocated shelter can open.
