Other Upcoming Events

Join Mental Health America for their virtual National Policy Institute: Addressing Youth Mental Health Needs in Schools which will be held on Tuesday, June 8, from 12- 3 p.m. MHA’s 2020 screening data indicates the population most impacted by the COVID-19 crisis was youth ages 11-17. This age group scored at risk for anxiety and depression more often, with more moderate to severe symptoms than other age groups. By meeting children and adolescents where they spend most of their time – in schools – we have a greater chance of moving upstream to prevention of mental health conditions and early intervention. These challenges are also an opportunity to address faculty and staff mental health education and training; something educators have been sounding the alarm about for years. Urgent action is needed to facilitate district restructuring and investment in screening, assessments, school-linked mental health services, financing, equity, and youth empowerment. Mental Health America’s 2021 Annual Conference: From Resiliency to Recovery will be held June 10-12 in Washington, DC. This year’s conference is planned to be a hybrid event consisting of a small in-person gathering and a digital conference experience for attendees participating online. Online participation is free, but registration is required. Go to for more information.
